With National Library Week in full-swing and Preservation Week on the horizon, this program will highlight some of the unexpected treasures in the Beaufort District Collection.
Cassandra Knoppel, the BDC's Library Specialist, will share the fascinating backstories of some of our newest collections and our Hilton Head-related archival materials. This local history program is designed to delight stout-hearted, true-blue history nerds. Take a trip into the wild side of the archives with us!

Speaker Bio: The BDC's Library Specialist, Cassandra Knoppel, graduated from Battery Creek High School and has a dual undergraduate degree in Historic Preservation and Art History and a Masters degree in Library and Information Science from UofSC, concentrating in Archives and Special Collections. Cassandra worked at the Historic Beaufort Foundation for two years before joining the BDC full-time in January 2024 in the re-instituted position of Library Specialist concentrating on archival processing and description.
